Use of tick pen:
The tick remover resembles a pen. The loop is pushed out with the button on the end of the pen and the loop is placed around the tick as close to the skin as possible. The tip of the pen is attached to the tick and the button is released, causing the loop to tighten. The spring is held perpendicular to the skin. The pen is twisted one round between the fingers and the tick is lifted off the skin.
