A safety brake is a very useful accessory for pulling harnesses for dogs that must never be able to slip out of the harness. Therefore, the belly strap should be added, for example, to pulling harnesses for dogs with a strong prey drive. A brake pad may also be necessary for lively dogs that tend to spin around in the harness while waiting for the start signal.
The Inlandsis Belly Band brake pad fits almost all pulling harnesses. The adjustable strap is placed behind the chest under the belly to a small enough size to prevent backing out of the harness. However, the strap must not tighten the dog's belly or restrict the normal expansion movement of the belly when breathing, so leave the strap a bit loose underneath.
