Lumac Sledding Helium: an extremely light bungee Pull line with unmatched bungee properties. Canicross length and four different stiffness versions from small dog to large strong puller.
The Helium Pull line, designed and entirely made in Europe, is super light: weight only about 95 grams. Despite its lightness, Helium's bungee is top class. The firm, high-quality bungee allows for a very long stretch distance: the 100 cm long Helium is 195 cm long when stretched.
Helium is the choice of the active competitor but thanks to the long stretch distance, it is also a very pleasant line for dogs that do not necessarily pull with the line fully tight all the time: a bungee line that shortens does not get tangled in the runner's/walker's legs.
Lumac Helium features:
- The Helium Pull line meets the rule requirements of dog running competitions.
- Made entirely in Europe from European materials as a result of several years of design work
- Excellent, firm bungee with a long stretch distance
- Gradual bungee that strengthens with stretching effectively softens jerks (about 25 kg resistance force at full stretch and about 18 kg resistance force at 90% stretch)
- There are versions for smaller/lighter pulling dogs, where the bungee yields more easily. Stiffness levels M and L are suitable for medium and large dogs.
- At the runner's end of the Pull line, there is an approximately 2 cm long loop, from which the line can be attached to the lock or open hook on the canicross belt
- NOTE: the Pull line does not come with a lock included. Lumac Sledding Helium is designed so that it is easy to attach your preferred lock to the rope loop at the dog end. Alternatively, the Helium Pull line is easy to thread directly onto the dog's harness. This solution is especially comfortable for dogs that are disturbed by the weight/swinging of a lock behind their back.
- A popular choice with Helium is for example bronze pistol lock or Non-stop dogwear CaniX Belt Carabiner. Check out our entire lock selection here.
- Since the Pull line does not have a fixed lock, it is also easy to extend with extension pieces to suit other sports, such as skiing or biking.
Choosing the size of Lumac Helium Line
Helium comes in four different stiffness versions intended for dogs of different sizes / pulling strengths. The lengths are the same in all. If your dog is a calm walker or hiker, you can also choose a size from a lower weight class: in this case, the Pull line yields and bungee more easily. For a dog eager to pull, we recommend sticking to the recommendation or choosing a stiffer version if you wish.
Lumac Helium Line sizes | Approximate weight of the pulling dog. | Length of the Pull line |
XS | 6-14 kg | 100-195 cm |
S | 14-22 kg | 100-195 cm |
M (original Helium) | 23-29 kg | 100-195 cm |
L | 30+ kg | 100-195 cm |
Extension of Lumac Helium Pull line for example for skijoring, bikejoring and hiking?
Helium is very easy to extend by twisting on an extension piece, for example Lumac Rope 50 cm or WAW Sport Leash 85 cm.
Lumac Helium Pull line for two dogs?
You can easily turn Helium into a two-dog Pull line by connecting Lumac Rope Pro Twin splitter. A smart combination even if you sometimes train with one dog and sometimes with two. The Pull line and splitter are easy to twist together on one of the attachment loops, so there are no annoying swinging locks in between. When using two dogs, consider choosing the right stiffness of the Pull line relative to the combined weight of the pulling dogs.
