Determining the right bootie size

Measure the circumference of your dog's paw at its widest point while the dog is standing (i.e., the paw is bearing weight). Divide this measurement by two and compare it to the width of the booties. Keep in mind that a dog's front paws are often wider than the hind paws.

In borderline cases, choose a larger bootie (the dog's paw needs room to spread when stepping). Tip: if you don't have a flexible measuring tape, use a string and a regular ruler to measure the circumference of the dog's paw.

Please note that the Long Distance bootie is made of non-stretch lightweight nylon fabric, so especially with this model, in borderline cases you should definitely opt for a larger size. In a lightweight fabric bootie, extra width is not a disadvantage.
